LUTZE introduces expansion of EMC type shield termination fittings

June 14, 2017

LUTZE Expands Cable Fittings

LUTZE is pleased to announce the expansion of EMC type shield termination fittings to include sizes for large diameter cables up to 500MCM (75mm OD).

These NPT and metric thread fittings provide effective strain relief and 360° shield termination. They use the same clamp style shield termination method as our smaller EMC fittings for best contact with the shield. Installation is quick and easy, and they are a perfect complement to LUTZE DRIVEFLEX® VFD cables.

Banner's long-range L-GAGE® High-Performance Laser Sensors Add IO-Link

June 8, 2017

LTF series sensors offer tremendous accuracy over long distances and provide reliable detection regardless of target color, material or reflectivity.

Key Benefits of LTF with IO-Link

  • Remote configuration: Device parameters can be read and altered remotely, even while inspections are ongoing, enabling quick configuration and minimizing downtime for product changeover.
  • Remote monitoring: Users can access sensor level data in real-time, make decisions based on that data, and receive real-time status alerts for rapid identification and resolution of problems.
  • Extended diagnostics: IO-Link provides visibility into errors and health status for each device, allowing users to evaluate machine performance and diagnose problems without shutting down equipment.
  • Simple device replacement: An IO-Link master device saves configuration data and automatically updates new sensors; users can easily replace sensors without expert knowledge for configuration.
  • Interface versatility: Measurement data is regularly sent from the LTF to an IO-Link master device, enabling analog output capabilities in a sensor with dual discrete outputs and no analog output.

Turck introduces New M08 Proximity Sensor Lineup Featuring Extended Sensing Ranges

May 30, 2017

Turck announces its new range of 8 mm barrel inductive proximity sensors. The technology of the ferrite core sensors has evolved, increasing the sensing range by up to 50 percent. As a result, flush mounted solutions can now be offered with an extended sensing range of 3 mm as well as with the conventional sensing range of 2 mm. The non-flush sensors are likewise available with a 3 or 5 mm sensing range. Thanks to the newly developed sensor electronics, Turck is also now able to produce devices with an ultra-short 15 mm design.

The modular development approach of the sensor series has led to a broad range of variants that allows users to find the ideal 8 mm barrel sensor for their application, without having to compromise. The sensors are available in 15, 22, 30 and 40 mm lengths. On the connectivity side, Turck is offering M8 or M12 connectors as well as sensors with a cable outlet, which in turn can be ordered with a 3- or 4-wire connection as NC or changeover contacts.

The sensors with a cable outlet are provided with a cable suitable for E-chain use, and a semi-transparent LED ring at the sensor end, which shows the sensing state from any viewing angle. The sensors are IP67 rated, and have an operating temperature of -25 °C to 70 °C.

Turck Introduces Compact IP67 Controller with CODESYS 3 Enables Machine Control outside the Cabinet

May 3, 2017

Turck has released its TBEN-PLC Codesys 3 compact IP67 PLC for controlling small or modular machines. Thanks to its robust housing and high degree of environmental protection, the TBEN-PLC can operate directly on-machine, enabling the implementation of machine control without the need for a control cabinet. Using machine automation concepts and the use of pre-assembled cordsets reduce the cabling e ort and simplify installation.

The wide variety of eldbus communication protocols supported underlines the tre- mendous exibility of the new TBEN-PLC; when used as a master/scanner, the device supports the industrial Ethernet protocols Pro net, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP, as well as Modbus RTU, CANopen and SAE J1939.

The TBEN-PLC can also be used as a remote IO device for Pro net, EtherNet/IP, Mod- bus TCP, Modbus RTU and CANopen networks, enabling use as a protocol converter or gateway. For example, the controller can function as a CANopen manager for machine module and connect this local network to a higher level system commu- nicating over Pro net. As part of the increasing digitization of industry, this enables existing machine controls to be integrated into modern closely networked, highly exible production systems.

Two onboard serial ports can also be used to integrate RS-232/485 serial devices. The device provides eight con gurable discrete I/O channels for the direct connection
of sensors and actuators. When combined with Turck’s eldbus technology products with IP67 protection, comprehensive machine control including safety technology can be completely implemented without the need for a control cabinet.

LÜTZE has expanded the 10A DC current control module LCOS-CC so that it now has the UL 508 and UL 2367 approvals

April 13, 2017

With LCOS, LÜTZE has developed an IP20 housing system which can be extended through tool-free plug-in modules, such as the LCOS-CCi, to form a complete and modular I/O system. As a 'Supplementary Protection Device', the LCOS-CC is an intelligent solid state relay circuit breaker that prevents wires and connected devices from overloading and short-circuiting. LÜTZE offers the current control LCOS-CC in two different versions: as a 1-channel, and a 2-channel version.

One of the main advantages of the LCOS-CC is the integrated energy bus and the direct load connection to '+' and '–'. In accordance with the housing philosophy of LCOS Systems, all terminal blocks are pluggable, and therefore suitable for tool-free construction or module replacement. The wiring expenses are thus substantially reduced in comparison to conventional systems. On the input side, the nominal voltage of the LÜTZE LCOS-CC totals DC 24V.

In the 2-channel design, the direct connection of the load is duplicated. Status messages take place as optical and electrical signals for each channel separately, either as collective fault messages or on achievement of the 90 percent utilisation.

In the single-channel version, the fuse has two pins (+,-) and galvanic isolation. All other functions are identical to the 1-channel version.

Background to modular LCOS housing system
The LCOS electronic housing is based on a device carrier that holds the separate housings or the plug-in function units. Plug-in data or power modules with supply options can supply power to the system and permit the construction of a modular data or power bus.
